Now that we got basic information out of the way, lets take a closer look at Cooler Master NotePal ErgoStand.

Closer look

Front shot

Rear shot

Cooler Master is faimous for their design of the product and the actual packaging. Looking at ErgoStand packaging, it deffenately stands out in the crowd as it shows the unit inside right on the front of the package. It is a simple and clean design really but it deffinetly makes a great first impression. On the back of the packaging we found some of the Features and Specifications of the ErgoStand along with the vivid images of the ErgoStand.

Detailed Information

NotePal ErgoStand

Some detailed information was found on the side of the package. It is important to mention that Cooler Master products could be found in many parts of the world and some of the descriptions of the units could be found in many different languages on Cooler Master packaging. The color theme of ErgoStand is rather simple yet effective. Every product Cooler Master releases has that high tech color schema.

Out of the box

Contents

Getting the ErgoStand out of the box wasnt hard. Just a few pulls and everything came a part sort of speak. ErgoStand was securely package in between two plastic foams. These foams are designed to keep ErgoStand in place while in transport. Cooler Master also placed the ErgoStand in the protective bag to minimize the accidental scrates to the unit. ErgoStand comes with a USB 2.0 cable, couple of stand feet and the actual ErgoStand unit.

Back shot

The basic composition of ErgoStand is plastic, metal mech and rubber. We found a stylish Cooler Master logo on the left side of the unit. So far this is the only visable Cooler Master logo on ErgoStand. The back of the ErgoStand is pretty much self explanetory. The metal beam helps users to adjust the hight of the unit with ease. to keep the cooler in place, Cooler Master has provided ErgoStand with rubber feet which hold the whole ErgoStand in place.

Front Shot

Profile Shot

The front surface of the ErgoStand has a metal mesh which acts as a heat transparent between your laptop and the cooler. A powerful 140 mm fan helps the hot air to be pushed a way from the heat source. As we have mentioned earlier, ErgoStand can be adjusted up to five different level, depending on the need. This comes very handy when you want to convert your laptop in to a desktop working enviroment.

Adjustable Stand

USB Ports

I personally thing is pretty cool and easy to adjust the height of the ErgoStand. With deep pockets it is unlikely that you would have any skipping problems with this unit. Meaning that once you have set a desiered height it is very secuerly installed. The whole unit is powered by USB 2.0 which also creates connections for up to 4 additional USB 2.0 connectors.

Left Panel

Rubber Support

On the left side we found a small control panel where we have options of turning on and off the fan and adjust it to a desiered speed. If you have a 5 v power adapter you could just unit that to power the ErgoStand. As we mentioned earlier ErgoStand has four rubber holders which help keep the notebook in place.

120 mm Fan

Adjustable Support

ErgoStand is equipped with 140mm fan which is powerful enough to move hot ait around but yet very quiet in operation. Generating only 15 dBa ErgoStand emits generally no noise what so ever. So you can go about your buisiness without being interupted. The fan is rated for 40 000 hours so it will be long before you would be conserned. ErgoStand supports a wide range of notebooks from 9 to 17 inches to be exact. Cooler Master included two adjustable pegs which help greatly with the support.

Ready to rock

Installation of ErgoStand was rather quick and easy. Just plug in a USB cable and you are ready to go. ErgoStand has some cable management spots that make things much neater than some other notebook coolers.

Testing

Power Off

Power On

Our testing was conducted in the time span of 20 minutes. The external temperature was taking of the notebook without ErgoStand and then after 20 minutes with ErgoStand being on. As you can see the temperature was droped by a few degree but yet not as significant as we expected. The notebook we have used was ASUS F8, the result may vary with other type of notebooks.

Conclusion

ErgoStand just might be the best notebook cooler out there. What we saw from ErgoStand was great performance and quality. Cooler Master has deffinately spent some time on designing this notebook cooler and as a result we have a great product. Out experience with ErgoStand was very plesant one as we have no negative issues to address. However ErgoStand does have a number of features which are highly bennefitial in every notebook cooler. What left a great impression about this unit is that it has some cable management on the back. So you no longer need to try to hide any wires or worry about being messy. As we have mentioned in the review the ErgoStand comes with 140mm fan. Just to keep in mind that this fan is not a best source of cooling for a laptop. It gives me a great pleasure to award Cooler Master ErgoStand with highest UMLan Inc rank of 10/10! Trully great product.

Some pros we found:

Easy to use.

Very light but stable on the flat surfaces.

Supports wide range of notebooks.

Adjustable stand height.

Light weight design.

Some cons we found:

Not a sufficient source of cooling.
