Now that we got basic information out of the way, lets take a closer look at Sentinel Advance.
Sentinel Advance comes in an open concept case, where the whole unit is pretty much opened for a user to see. As you can imagine this is a mouse, how many options can it possible have? There are tons of features and specifications on the actual packaging, any where from macros to adjusting profiles. CM Storm logos are everywhere. CM Storm is a Cooler Master advanced gaming division which produces gear for hard core games.
Up to 5600 DPI sensor
Search and Destroy
What is impressive with Sentinel Advance is that it has two lasers which are able to provide up to 5600 DPI. So if you need to adjust the DPI of the mouse you can do that by just a touch of the button. Great feature and plays well with multiple profiles.
Sentinel Advance comes with a spare glider applicators, pci cable management unit, drivers / application cd and Sentinel Advance. The Sentinel Advance usb cord is imbedded in the mesh and provides extra protection and that stylish look. The cable management is rather unique one. It provides management of the lose cord and makes things nice and neat.
Sentinel Advance is made out of ABS plastic with a rubber grip all around the mouse. It feels great against your skin as you use this mouse. There is a stylish silver logo of CM Storm on the side of the Sentinel Advance.
On the bottom of the Sentinel Advance we found a gliding stickers with allow Sentinel Advance to move smoothly on pretty much any surface. At the end of Sentinel Advance there is a small compartment with weights. Each of the metal weights is 4.5 grams. So by removing or adding these little weights you can achieve a perfect feeling of the mouse.
In the front of the Sentinel Advance there are two ultra brite leds which has up to 7 colors of settings. On the top of the Sentinel Advance there is also area where the color of leds could be changed. This mouse has 8 buttons over all and each one of them could be assigned manually.
Ready to go
In the middle of the Sentinel Advance there is a small OLED display which allows users to upload their own logos and notifies the user of what DPI mode mouse is running under.
We have took a deeper look in the control panel of the Sentinel Advance and found out a lot of features which could be customized manually.
Anything from motion sensitivity to button response time could be found here. As mentioned earlier in the review Sentinel Advance has programmable profile which could be set by a user for a specific game.
What we thought was cool, is the ability to customize the colors of the Sentinel Advance. Even "on click" could be customized. WOAH! You could upload a logo directly to the OLED display. There are these and many more features which Sentinel Advance has to offer. No wonder it is oriented toward PRO GAMERS!
I have played around with Sentinel Advance and Counter Strike Source and i would like to comment that the response to the game controls was greatly improved. I cant say that i got more head shots but i think i enjoyed the Sentinel Advance and its performance.
Definitely a must have for any hard core gamers. This mouse has every feature you can possibly want! Our experience with Sentinel Advance has been a pleasant one as it has many options for a player. If you are in to FPS you should definitely try Sentinel Advance as it has a lot to offer to a gamer. Some of its greatest features are the customizable profiles and customizable OLED screen in the middle of the mouse. It is very easy to select a profile to use and friendly OLED screen guides you to the proper profile. Some games like light mice that's why some of them remove as much weight from them as they can. With Sentinel Advance it is pretty easy to add or remove weight as it comes with a compartment where the weight could be adjusted by removing small containers of 4.5 grams. Over all our experience with Sentinel Advance was a pleasant one and i would like to recommend this unit for every FPS gamer. Great product and superior performance comparing to stock mice.
